Information on Virus Protection, Malware Protection and how those softwares affect your systems and how Satori runs. Satori software runs either on a workstation or in a network environment. When running on a single computer or a network, any virus protection or malware software will affect the speed of your computer and how it handles the running of Satori. It does not matter on what computer your virus software is installed, because Satori runs both on your workstation and has processes on your server, the virus software affects operation. Almost all virus software that comes pre-installed on your computer is designed for a single computer and for basic home consumer use. Most home consumers are just surfing the web a bit, checking emails, copying and processing photo and video files, and creating, editing and saving document files. All of these activities have your system open and close files, and copy and paste files. The virus and malware software assumes this kind of operation and checks for activity in this manner. Satori however opens and closes files for shared access, and individually locks and unlocks hundreds of records a minute. Most cheaper virus softwares cannot distinguish this type of software operation from virus operation, because essentially most viruses act in a similar manner, although for very different reasons. Higher end virus protection knows the difference, or can be configured to not check certain programs in their operation, or certain folders. This is helpful in keeping Satori running quickly. Even the fastest computers and networks can be slowed down to a crawl by bad virus software. In all our experience here, both Norton and MacAffee's basic versions are not good softwares for practices. AVG and TrendMicro make good products. If you run virus software on a workstation and a server, you are getting affected by both. Many times checking for the same things. That is why it is important to choose good software for this.
